Update to the electricreheat coil for singleduct VAVs
Price Industries is excited to announce a new differentiation to the SDV, elevating our legacy as the best- in-class terminal unit manufacturer for contractors, consulting engineers, and building owners.
New Bottom Controls Option
Installing contractors and consulting engineers are continually challenged with fitting equipment into ceilings around lighting, fire suppression, ductwork, and structural elements.
National Electrical Code requires 3 to 4 feet of clearance from the side of electrical enclosures depending on the grounding conditions and voltage supplied.
New bottom access electric heat maintains stringent safety certifications while allowing clearance to point down towards removable access panels – simplifying mechanical design, installation, commissioning, and servicing.
Working Space
Incremental Coil Kilowattage
Price Industries’ American-made electric coils are manufactured to 0.1 kW increments. Most manufacturer build to increments of 0.5, 1, or
2 kW allowing for simplified manufacturing and improved sales margins.
Over-sized electric coils result in:
+ Increased first cost
+ Overserved zones that are too hot
+ Larger electrical systems
+ Larger breakers, wiring, and transformers
Example – a zone requiring 4.2 kW of heat in a 277 volt
electrical system:
+ Most manufacturers would provide a 5.0 kW heater
served by a 25A breaker (18.05A)
Price Industries incremental kilowattage results in:
+ Less total building amps
+ Smaller breakers, wiring and transformers
+ Cost savings
+ Better thermal comfort
+ Less frequent controls cycling and improved product life
Example – a zone requiring 4.2 kW of heat in a 277 volt electrical system:
+ Price Industries would provide a 4.2 kW heater served by a 20A breaker (15.2A)
